Purpose
In order to accommodate growing interest
in ideas generated by my books and teaching,
I'm offering illustrated talks, classes and workshops for the
general public.
The central purpose of this Constructing The Universe teaching
space is
to provide a creative atmosphere for adults and youngsters
to explore interesting ideas through talks and hands-on activities
not otherwise easily available.
You never change things by fighting the existing
reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing
model obsolete.
R. Buckminster Fuller
These are opportunities for people
interested in exploring "sacred" or "philosophical
geometry,"
the timeless wisdom of nature's patterns and number/shape symbolism
in worldwide sacred traditions and cultures of the deep past.
Longer workshops for more extensive hands-on explorations of certain
topics will also be offered.
I've been an educator for 36 years,
of youngsters and adults, from second graders to post-graduate
students,
with eleven years in middle schools including "gifted"
programs
(I learned not to separate children this way, all children are
gifted and deserve the best education).
For the past eight years I've been teaching "Mathematical
Ideas For Artists" to enthusiastic art students
at the California College Of The
Arts in San Francisco and Oakland.
"And since geometry is the right foundation of
all painting,
I have decided to teach its rudiments and principles to all youngsters
eager for art..."
